The church is near the university where we started our journey. The little street which leads to the church was representative of an unconventional Venice, because it was without crowd and noise.

When we entered into the church of San Nicolò dei Mendicoli, we have been greeted by the old guardian who brought us to a secret place in the upper appartment of the local priest. We have been lucky to find him!
In this old chapel in the appartment, we had the chance to see a fresco of the 1300, recently restored. We took some photos and also a photo of ourselves with the kind guardian, who was very happy to have an audience. We left him and his church, not before let him giving us a flyer presenting the place.

After that suprising visit, we got back to the dock called: Fondamenta Zattere.

But at this moment, we heard the carol of the Bells, and for parisians like us, this is not usual. Then we discovered that in Italy, the bells carol every hour!
